It’s Okay to Feel Sad

For you, a precious person who wasn’t even allowed to vomit your emotions.

We have often been told that it doesn’t matter what we’re doing, where we live, or whom we are with as long as it makes us happy.

We have often been asked to wipe out our tears and start smiling even when we’re in a miserable condition.

They said,

“It’s okay, don’t cry”

“don’t be sad”

“Man don’t cry”

And many more.

The thing is, we asked to throw away our sadness, start to be happier, and create our ideal life.

Unconsciously, we are assumed that being strong means we must not be upset. To be a good one equals we are not being able to feel awful.

Sad is only for a weak person.

And slowly, we have grown by burying down our emotions. Indirectly, we’re not allowed to let them out, we are requested to hide them.

You hide it all into yourself. Gradually, your pain is getting bigger and bigger. And at the point when you can’t keep it anymore, it will be exploded. You’ll be depressed, frustrated, you’ll start screaming, and finally, you’ll give up. Your problem gonna be much bigger than ever.

For me, it’s okay to feel sad. It’s thoroughly natural to disappoint when you can’t reach out to your targets, it’s definitely fine to cry when you’re having a bad day, even you’re allowed to be sad for no exact reason. When you feel sad, just cry. Write down your awful thought, show your emotion there. Or you might need a friend to talk with, just vomit it all. Do it for your own sake, but if you don’t want it to be exposed, just keep yourself in a locked room, and express your feeling.

Many people view crying as a sign of weakness but in reality, it takes great strength to confront this vulnerable emotion. So, don’t hide your emotions. You are not supposed to stop crying when you still have a terrible feeling.

But at some point, you need to get up and stop crying. Then try to see them all through different perspectives. There are many things you can learn from everything in your life.

Let it be. If you’re sad, cry. If you’re having a bad day, write it down. Let yourself express them all, stop listening to people who say what to feel because you deserve to feel what you’re actually feeling.
